About OPTM Healthcare – Non-Surgical Pain Management Since 2011

Dr. Apurba Ganguly founded OPTM to treat chronic pain from blood biomarkers and plant-based compounds — not from a default referral to the operating theatre.

Dr. Apurba Ganguly

Ph.D. Biochemistry, M.Sc, M.D, Ph.D. (Pain & Phytomedicine)

Founder

He asked whether joint pain starts in the joint. Usually, it doesn't.

In the 1980s, Dr. Apurba Ganguly — a PhD biochemist — started asking why some people with “mild” X-rays could barely walk, while others with ugly scans had little pain. His working theory: chronic joint pain is often a muscle and metabolic problem first. 35+ years, 10,000+ patients, and a European Medical Association award later, that is still how we work.

His research pointed to hidden muscle degeneration — he called it MD-OADs — that standard MRIs and X-rays miss. So we measure 60+ blood biomarkers, estimate muscle biological age, and treat the biology imaging never shows. Plant-molecular therapy is the treatment layer. The bloodwork is the map.

We opened in 2011 because surgery and painkillers were the only two answers most people got

Since 2011 we have asked a simpler question: can we treat the biology driving the pain, without a joint replacement, a steroid series, or a lifetime of tablets?

Our Mission

Give people in India a third option besides “live with it” and “replace the joint.” We run AI on 60+ blood biomarkers, then treat the biology we find. That is the whole mission.

Our Vision

Chronic pain should not be a life sentence. Walk in, get a written explanation of the cause, a plan measured in weeks, and a way forward that does not start with a scalpel.

Four rules we actually follow in clinic

10,000+ patients later, these still decide how we diagnose and how we treat.

Measure first

97% diagnostic accuracy on our AI bloodwork, built on 35+ years of biochemistry research.

Your markers, your plan

Treatment follows your biomarker profile, not a photocopied physio sheet.

Published, then practised

We do not run a protocol we have not put in a journal or a clinic audit.

Outside recognition

Awards from the European Medical Association, AYUSH, and pain-medicine bodies. The clinic numbers still matter more.
